Bonehead Tip of the Day: That person who told you to shut up about politics just took your football team and ripped them so many ways, you no longer see them as a friend. Keep that sense of humor.
The List: Weekend BO
1. "No Strings Attached"
2. "The Way Back"
Notes: It's cold and the AFC and NFC championships are on TV. How do you think the box office will fare this weekend? Right, hunker down and enjoy football, which is seeing a revolution in the ratings this year. It will be hard-pressed for the Oscars to match the Jets/Pats game in the numbers. The Bears/Seahawks game averaged 32 million and it started at noon (CT) last Sunday. "American Idol" averaged 25-28 million for the night in its return. I would suggest you try to catch up with those movies that are up for awards and get ready for Sunday. As for the releases, a dumping ground again as award season rolls on. You know what they need? A movie about roommates. Wait, that's next week. Do not forget, Oscar nominations out Tuesday.
Trivia: Can you imagine the gas dinosaurs excreted? OK, do not try. In the Old West, unbranded cattle were called unbranded cattle. Never mind, call them mavericks. Can a family member ruin a career? Ask Edwin Booth. He was John Wilkes Booth's brother and played a mean Hamlet, I have been told.
Closer: "Anybody who hates children and dogs can't be all bad." Attributed to W.C. Fields but uttered by Leo Rosten when he introduced Fields.
