items to be released so we will ignore them by Monday. It is the ideal time to
sneak that information into a news cycle around 3 p.m. on a Friday afternoon.
- It has come to my attention that our woes in the United States could be
summed up in one word. Now, this word will apply even if you are a "have" or a
"have not" in the process. Put the politics aside and just think about the best
ways to attack the spending ways and saving efforts in our own lives. For
most of us, me included, by no means are we rich, but that one word is - -
jealousy. I thought about it for some time and yes, I can be jealous of people
more money than me. It's like a celebrity who gets famous, makes
money and then we tend to tear them down. We all love a comeback story, too. But
I digress. Add in the perks of those wealthy and those who have those great jobs
that comes with perks and bam, they are bad. However, just because this jealousy
rears its ugly head is no reason to attack the rich, tax them to death and give
their money away, just to make us feel better. I do not care how they got their
money, either - - unless it was illegal. I love my job, which doesn't make me
rich, but the perks can really add up and make life fun. I worked hard to get
them. They didn't just happen. Please, do not take those away. Likewise, I will
not attack the perks of the rich either, whether it's that boat or a suite to a
ballgame. How about learning their tricks and follow that example? Perhaps many
of us should stop hanging around with people who are always negative, hateful
and do not have a kind word to say about anybody or anything. One way to get
even is by making those who have achieved or have money, out to be the enemy,
our jealousy. Now, who is the bully here? I, by choice, left
the newspaper industry and started my own service, plus have a daily radio show.
Plus, I downsized and got rid of the clutter. I also downsized the negative
people and their hold on me. We cannot solve all the world's problem. Why not at
least start with YOU. Then the rest will take care of itself.

- "Hoodwinked 2"
- "Dylan Dog: Dead of
Source: Box Office Mojo
Notes: It is "Prom" again?
No, not if
you are thinking "Carrie." But "Dead of Night" may fit that
horror bill. "Fast Five" seems on track to be the winner and put the two week
U.S. run on "Rio" to an end. By no means are these the only films debuting this
weekend. How about
"Lebanon, Pa" and "Cave of Forgotten Dreams"? For me,
"13 Assassins" may be on tap.
- Not only will she command a huge sum for
commercial spots on her last show but Oprah will fill the United Center in
Chicago for that last hurrah. Here's an example of hype that many of us may tire
of but we will miss when she is gone. So, I thank Oprah for the work and wisdom
she has brought to Illinois, if nothing us. By the way, the Chicago Oprah store
will close in May as well.
- I'm tired of hearing "taking it back to the lab"
on all those crime TV shows.
- Just in time for "Superman" to make his return
to filming in
Illinois, the Comic Alliance #900 has noted he will give up
his U.S. citzenship. Hmmm.
- Get out those moon songs. Tourism is coming for
a trip around the moon. Somehow, all this space travel has got to be screwing up
the climate, right?
TOPS IN TV FOR THE WEEK
- "American Idol (Wed)"
- "American Idol (Thurs)"
- "Dancing With The Stars"
Notes: "The Voice" got off to a good start as it beat "Glee" in a
head-to-head battle. I have reported that a death is coming to "Glee" as well.
Stay tuned. Meanwhile, May Sweeps are upon us and the network upfronts will be
here shortly, so get out those No. 2s and take notes on your favorite shows and
some news ones. We should also learn the fate of "Two and a Half Men" with the
upfronts on the way.
- We know TV shows can overstay their welcome but can
they understay? Two of them, to me, have done just that. "Fawlty Towers" and the
original "Office" did. I'm not talking about shows that got canned early. Those
two put in 12 episodes and called it off.
IN CLOSING: From the CW: CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment announced that Mark Pedowitz has been named President, The CW Television Network. They already announced the renewals of "Gossip Girl" and
"90210." Oh yeah, and "The Vampire Diaries."
