It's time to Dump It.
UPDATE: Power of Oprah? Because of the taping at the United Center on May 19, the Bulls game was pushed to Sunday. Now, game two at the United Center is Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
There is no truth to the rumor that any network has pilot titled "My Three
Wives" starring Osama bin Laden (or a stand-in). It would not be on cable or via streaming, however. Do not want to leave a cyber trail.
DONE DEAL: Ashton Kutcher will take over for Charlie Sheen. This needed to be done since the TV upfronts are next week. Get ready, next week will be fast and furious for us covering the TV business. Hugh Grant was in talks to take Sheen's place, but Kutcher it is. Being a verteran sitcom star on "That '70s Show" will not hurt him. In fact, that show's style will help him here. The only problem, "Two and a Half Men" has passed its prime and it was a show about Sheen. A revamp and reboot may work and is really needed now. I will not watch. OK, the first few but I was not a regular viewer of it the first time around.
Why is Newt Gingrich not viable as a candidate because of the past and the wives issue? One side says it so much the other side starts to believe it. It's nice to see him running because he knows the issues and is a genius at historical matters. Wow. Just a few months ago I was approached and told that way too many GOP folk are thinking of running for president. Now, the same people ask me "Where are they?" Why do you care? You have your candidate. I know this from historical purposes that conservatives want someone who is more conservative than George W. Bush was and that person has yet to arrive on the scene. Now, enter Newt. Michael Reagan himself noted we should look for someone other than his dad and that is correct. Nobody will be like him because he understood America. That being - - when you put your hand on that Bible and quote the oath it's all about God, Family and Country. Nothing else, as president, should matter. COUNTRY first. This COUNTRY first. That is the primary job of the president. If you do that the rest will take care of itself.
- Oh, by the way, I do not care that it's Friday the 13th. Let's move on, shall we?
- I do
not care what side on the aisle you are on, neither party wants to kill people,
leave them on the street and we do not care. We all care. Shut up.
to be realistic and less idealistic. "Imagine" is a nice song but in no way
accurate or realistic. Not on Earth, that is.
- Those who are NOW suggesting
and saying the gas prices have nothing to do with the president
remember that next time a republican is in the White House. And should have
thought about that just a few short years ago. Be consistent. And, did not you use the idea of "whoever is in the White House" gets the blame? Doesn't that apply now?
- I still want to see the photo of OBL and now that some are being
able to see them and some aren't, I do not like it.It's beneath us or not our
way doesn't wash with me. Danger? We are in danger.

Notes: I'm not expecting much taking a look at these offerings. One thing is for sure. I stay away from wedding-themed movies so, well, you know. Just putting a stamp of 3D on it does nothing for me either, In fact, it now does the opposite. I wonder why "Priest" needs this treatment. So, "Thor" in 2D and 3D will most likely have another good weekend. Looking ahead, I already have a headache watching the trailers for "Hangover 2." Hey, they did it again.
- Sad to hear that "The Chicago Code" was not renewed. It started off slow but it built into a solid drama. The shows' backdrop was Chicago, of course. Now, "The Playboy Club" is picked up by NBC. "Chuck" has a new life, too, I have been told. Not bad for a show that has loyal, but few viewers.
- As Daytime Emmy folk honor "General Hospital" with a boat load of nominations, its ratings continue to sag. Can it survive?
FLASH REPORTS: The Daily has suggested that Will and Jada
Smith, plus kids are set for the last Oprah show on May 25. Well, we noted all along that May 25 was not a done deal because May 17 will be two tapings that will air May 23, 24...stay tuned!
- "A gift to the city for over two decades," Chicago Mayor Daley said in naming a street in front of Harpo Studios Oprah Winfrey Way, this afternoon (May 11). Oprah noted, "It's better than an Oscar. It's better than an Emmy."
