- Forget the invasion of relatives, try worrying about bedbugs this year. According to London Luxury, we should worry: "Bed bugs cling to baggage, backpacks and clothing, and have been found on airplanes, in hotels and on buses. Travelers are easily susceptible to the pests without even knowing it. And once they are brought into a home, it can be extremely difficult and costly to get rid of them."
- AAA forecasts 42.5 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, a four percent increase from the 40.9 million people who traveled one year ago. So, they really can track us, can't they? This disturbs me. Anyone else?
- According to a new CouponCabin.com survey, nearly one-quarter (23 percent) of U.S. adults report they won't travel to holiday celebrations. Why? It's simple. they can't afford it. The survey saw this as a trend over the past few years. It found nearly one-third (32 percent) of U.S. adults said they missed a holiday celebration with friends and family in the past due to travel costs. This survey was conducted online nationwide by Harris Interactive on behalf of CouponCabin.com from November 4-8, 2011 among 2,042 adults ages 18 and older.
And now, the other side of that survey: almost one-third (30 percent) of U.S. adults report they will travel more than 100 miles to holiday celebrations this year. When asked how they plan to travel, they said the following: Car - 77 percent; Plane - 35 percent; Train - 4 percent and Bus - 3 percent.
