If one needs a few tips, why not hear from Simon Cowell himself? On the audition page, he says to "be original, don't be boring, stand out from the crowd and be fearless." Perhaps that is easier said than done because, after watching this show, and others like it, it is not necessary all the good ones that get a spot on TV.
Therefore, could they be stacking the deck in order to create good TV? Put on those bad ones so they, the judges can have at them? Or even set up feuds all for the sake of TV? No, that would be faking it. Wait, TV doesn't do that.
According to the show's website: "These are first-round auditions for acts that want to perform on the show. They are open to any age and any talent, however, there are no audience tickets to view the acts auditioning in this first round."
