It dominated many film festivals this year and now has its sights on the Oscars. Can it pull it off? "The Artist" is a superb film that should be seen. Not only for the film making and the acting, but for a nostalgic trip into Hollywood's past. Add in the idea of a black and white movie in this day and age of blockbuster 3D and effects, this is a blessing. I have always said I pay more attention to a movie in black and white and notice the shadows, acting and dialogue much more. In fact, each year I update my list of top ten movies of all time and guess what, a black and white film is at the top - - still, after all these years. That film is "Casablanca." Meanwhile, "Schindler's List," "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "It's a Wonderful Life" are in there, too. For more updates and live Oscar blogging, plus Golden Globe and SAG, head here...
