Morrison celebrates a “Hometown Christmas” with a host of events beginning Thursday evening (Nov. 30) with church suppers, live nativity, and Christmas tree lighting; Friday features restaurant specials and Christmas Cocktail Concoction Contest at the pubs; culminating on Saturday with a craft show, window displays, retail specials, holiday entertainment, and lighted parade.
DIXON
The 23st Annual Christmas Walk has been set for Dec. 2-3. This year’s event is being brought to you by Dixon Main Street and the Dixon Chamber of Commerce. The festivities kick-off as Santa will arrive in downtown Dixon at KSB Hospital at 6 p.m. for a tree lighting ceremony. The walk also features specials and give-aways at many of the downtown stores and, of course, the traditional horse-and-wagon rides will be available from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. that night.
After walking through the streets and taking in the atmosphere, families will get a chance to win a bounty of cash and prizes at the Great Snowball Drop at 7 p.m. at the corner of First and Ottawa Ave (near Dixon Paint Company). More than 1500 "snowballs" will drop from the sky and festival goers will get to catch a snowball for a chance at great prizes ranging from downtown gift certificates to $100 cash.
Come back downtown on Saturday for Breakfast with Santa at the Lee County Senior Center and Post House Ballroom. There will be a pancake breakfast, pictures with Santa from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. (the breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m.). Also on Saturday, the Dixon Lioness Club will feature their annual Craft Show from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Loveland Community House. They will also be serving lunch and holding a bake sale throughout the day. And the Dixon Municipal Band will hold their annual holiday concert that evening at 7 p.m. at the Historic Dixon Theatre.

MT. CARROLL
The Mount Carroll Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas Walk and Tour of Homes on Saturday, Dec. 3rd. Businesses will offer holiday specials and Dickens characters will stroll through the downtown area. The Tour of Homes is 10 am – 2pm and advanced tickets cost $5. Prices increase to $7 the day of the tour. Tickets are available downtown at the Driftless Area Stillroom located in the shops @ glenview. Call 815.244.4058 to purchase tickets with a credit card for pickup on Dec. 3rd.
Many special events will be held downtown during the Christmas Walk.
There will be a book signing ("All I Want for Christmas is to See a Tornado!") by WQAD-TV meteorologist Terry Swails and his wife, Carolyn S. Wettstone from 1-3 pm at the Market Street Commons, 320 N. Main St. The Savanna Thomson State Bank is sponsoring Pictures with Santa 10a-1p at the Senior Center, 306 N. Main St. Story Time with Father Christmas and Santa Paws will be held at the Mt. Carroll Public Library (208 N. Main St.) at 10 am followed by a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the south room renovation. Conover Square Mall businesses will host a Festival of Trees, madrigal singers, food, specials and the big guy himself - Santa!
FULTON
Fri, Dec. 2nd - 2 mile run/walk at 6:30p with registration at Manny's Too beginning at 5:30p. Downtown Christmas Walk from 5-7:30 pm with many events including train rides, Santa Claus, The Grinch, Live Nativity, food, music and more.
Sat, Dec 3rd -Fulton Fire Dept breakfast with Santa at the new fire station from 7-10a. Businesses will be open in downtown Fulton all day offering shopping, entertainment, refreshments and holiday cheer.
Sat Dec 3rd - The Christmas Walk at Heritage Canyon will be held on Sat. from 10a to 4p with the Illuminated Walk from 6-8pm
