press release: CMT PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE STORIES OF
SURVIVAL
FROM 9/11 WHEN “ANGELS AMONG US” PREMIERES SEPTEMBER
8

New CMT Series Explores Real-Life Encounters with Angels

NASHVILLE – August 9, 2011 – CMT brings inspirational stories to life in a new four-episode series, ANGELS AMONG US, premiering Thursday, September 8 at 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT with an episode to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of 9/11.  Genelle Guzman-McMillan, Ron DiFrancesco and John Yates’ lives were forever changed when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  The first one-hour episode of ANGELS AMONG US takes an awe-inspiring look into their individual miracles of survival, with touching stories that can only be explained by acts of divine intervention.

Guzman-McMillan was on the 13th floor of World Trade Tower One when it collapsed on top of her.  As hope faded, she believes an angel held her hand until she became the last victim pulled from the rubble 27 hours later.  DiFrancesco was one of only two survivors from Floor 84 of Tower Two, escaping death after he heard an otherworldly voice urging him to run into the fire.  At the Pentagon, Yates pushed through massive injuries towards safety with the help of something extraordinary.

ANGELS AMONG US features everyday men and women who believe they were delivered from tragedy through angelic encounters.  The true-life stories will be told through interviews with the survivors, eye-witness accounts and reenactments.  Ranging from catastrophic car crashes to tornadoes, debilitating illnesses and the biggest terrorist attack in U.S. history, the show focuses on the tales of triumph told in the survivors’ own words.

ANGELS AMONG US is produced by Emmy Award-winning GRB Entertainment (“Intervention,” “Aftermath With William Shatner,” and
“Untold Stories of the ER”), with Gary R. Benz, Michael Branton and Tammy Wood serving as executive producers.  Melanie Moreau and Jayson Dinsmore are executive producers for CMT.

TVNewser: On Sunday, Sept. 11, NBC will pre-empt both Today and Meet the Press for special coverage of the official 9/11 memorial services in New York; Washington, D.C.; and Shanksville, Pa.
