He is correct here: Carl Lewis @Carl_LewisThe USA team did everything wrong in the men's relay. The passing system is wrong, athletes running the wrong legs, and it was clear that there was no leadership. It was a total embarrassment, and completely unacceptable for a USA team to look worse than the AAU kids I saw .
* I qualified for state in Illinois High School track in four events my senior year (100, 200, 400 relay and 800 relay). I graduated in 1981 and we worked our tails off on this in practice. It was so obvious that they did not practice their handoffs. We did daily and still had other events to run. But, the USA team failed, not just this year, but for years in the sprints. * I am amazed at some of the times coming out of Tokyo. Real nice to see and the American men need to go back to dominated the sprints again, like when I was growing up. Carl Lewis had the best form as a sprinter I have ever seen.
